designing a fintech dashboard that actually makes sense
a cryptocurrency-friendly fintech dashboard where complexity disappears behind clean design. real-time balances, multi-currency support, and instant conversions — all without the cognitive overload.

the challenge
rapidpay handles multi-currency transactions — fiat and crypto — across a global user base. their existing dashboard was built by engineers for engineers: powerful but impenetrable. users couldn't find basic information without clicking through five screens. support tickets for "how do I..." questions consumed 40% of the customer success team's bandwidth.
the business was growing, but the product experience was becoming a bottleneck. new users churned within the first week, not because the service was poor, but because the interface made it feel that way.
our approach
we conducted a task-frequency analysis to understand what users actually do every day versus what they do once a month. the findings reshaped the entire layout: total balance, quick actions (deposit, withdraw, transfer, invoicing), and recent activity earned permanent real estate on the dashboard. everything else was reorganized into contextual sidebars.
the currency breakdown was reimagined as a horizontal bar with proportional segments — BTC, ADA, AAVE, USDN, TRX — giving users an instant portfolio snapshot without a single chart interaction. the conversion tool was embedded directly into the main view, eliminating the three-step flow that previously required navigating to a separate page.
we established a warm, professional visual tone using white space and a restrained orange accent. the color palette avoids the cold, sterile look common in fintech and instead conveys accessibility and confidence.
the outcome
post-launch usability testing showed a 94% task completion rate, up from 58%. support tickets related to navigation and discovery dropped by 61% within the first quarter. daily active users grew steadily as word-of-mouth replaced frustration.
the embedded conversion tool alone accounted for a 340% increase in currency exchange volume — users were always one click away instead of three pages away. rapidpay's product team called it the single highest-impact design change in the company's history.
